CEDAW Elections 2024

Eleven new CEDAW Committee members were elected on 7 June 2024 at the 23rd Meeting of States parties in New York. Newly elected Committee members will replace outgoing members whose terms of office will expire on 31 December 2024.

Although the election process remains state-driven, there exist avenues for NGO involvement in the nomination process. Refer to our CEDAW Elections Guide 2024 for more details on how NGOs can engage with their States on nominating a candidate:
