The Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) is the most comprehensive international treaty on women's human rights. This CEDAW portal maintained by IWRAW Asia Pacific provides information on upcoming CEDAW reviews, opportunities for strengthening capacity on CEDAW, as well as stories of change on CEDAW in action.


CEDAW Election Results 2020

The CEDAW Committee elections were held on 9 November 2020. Our table shows the new and returning Committee members, along with the geographical regions represented.



Global to Local

Denmark at the 78th CEDAW Session

Denmark will be reviewed at the 78th CEDAW Session, held virtually, in February 2021. NGOs have an opportunity to submit shadow reports and engage with the CEDAW Committee.

State Review Postponements

State reviews which were scheduled for the 76th and 77th CEDAW Sessions have been postponed to 2021. NGOs may submit shadow reports now with the option to send a follow-up four weeks prior to commencement of the rescheduled session.
